Campaigns
Choose the right campaign type for broadcasts and scheduled follow-ups
Use Campaigns when you want to send outbound WhatsApp messages to a group of contacts. In Bouncer, campaigns fall into two broad categories:
- Broadcast campaigns for one-time sends to an audience
- Drip campaigns for scheduled sequences sent over time
The right campaign type depends on how your WhatsApp number is connected and how you want messages delivered.
Choose the right campaign type
| If you want to... | Use this |
|---|---|
| Send a one-time campaign through an official WhatsApp Business API connection | Broadcast via Meta Cloud API |
| Send a one-time campaign from a Bouncer Direct number connected by QR code | Broadcast via Bouncer Direct |
| Send a multi-step sequence with delays between messages | Drip Campaigns |
Broadcast vs. drip campaigns
Use broadcasts for one-time sends
Broadcast campaigns are best when you want to send a single message to a selected group of contacts, such as:
- announcing a promotion
- sharing an event reminder
- sending a re-engagement message
- following up with a recent lead list
Broadcasts are usually the fastest way to send one message to many contacts.
Use drip campaigns for sequences
Drip campaigns are better when you want contacts to receive a series of messages over time. This is useful for onboarding, nurturing, and timed follow-up sequences.
Connection type matters for broadcasts
Broadcast behavior depends on how your WhatsApp number is connected:
- Meta Cloud API uses Meta's official WhatsApp Business API and typically relies on approved templates for outbound campaign sends.
- Bouncer Direct uses a QR-based connection, which is often better for sending from a number that behaves more like WhatsApp Web.
Because these connection types have different rules, setup steps, and limits, Bouncer documents them separately.
Before you send a campaign
No matter which campaign type you use, make sure you:
- Choose the correct WhatsApp connection
- Confirm your audience is accurate and up to date
- Review the message content before sending
- Check any template or delivery requirements that apply to your connection type
If you're using Meta's official API, start with Broadcast via Meta Cloud API. If you're sending from a QR-connected number, go to Broadcast via Bouncer Direct.
